John Salko Biography

John's art evolves from his creative desire to push the envelope of experimentation. Whenever he paints, He feels an emotional and passionate connection to life, which instills a vibrancy in his work.  Using "color as the communicator", his medium is Oil or Acrylic paint sealed with(or without) a poly finish on wooden panels. He also enjoys creating interesting designs of black and white.

John Salko is a gifted, self-taught painter, naturalist, poet, fisherman, writer, horticulturist, and a master carpenter. Now, in his mid-sixties, he continues to paint brilliant works where he resides in Maine with his wife, Karen, a screenwriter and novelist.
